I Wonder

The human story is about being lost and being found. Being loved and being left. Sometimes I want to rail at the world because I know... countless people have been through the mirage and the murk; all have wondered if they will ever find their way. Each believes their story is unique. But we all actually just repeat history. We all just repeat ourselves. All the more I wonder, what a very patient God we have. To hear the same whining and mourning all over the planet from different hurting hearts, it must take some colossal strength. Doesn't He get tired of it? And me, staring at the ceiling, trying to accept that the floundering feeling inside me, the lost little girl, is a normal thing. Countless people have been through worse, and I have no cause for complaint. I ought not to think too much. I spend too much time staring into empty spaces. I don't know if this is a good thing anymore. But I wouldn't be myself if I didn't wonder.

Save Room

I heard the song "Save Room" by John Legend while I was in the bus on my way to work. I smiled when I remembered that Bangyay, a good friend in Sagada, thanked me profusely for a cd I mixed for him and his brother. See here, the first few lines goes like this: Say that you'll stay a little Don't say bye bye tonight (standard innkeeper's prayer) Say you'll be mine just a little of bit of love Is worth a moment of your time knocking on your door just a little (room service?) so cold outside tonight (In Sagada? Like hell has frozen over) let's get the fire burning (the Inn lights a bonfire every night for guest...

One day in Operations and I went home looking like this: It might take me a while to recover my stride.

Stuck in Rewind

I know an old man who is excellent in making videos. He often speaks loudly as if conversing with another person atop a far-off mountain . A lot of people avoid him because he tends to engage them in long-winded conversations where he always emerges right anyway. They call him old-school and passé. I will not play the hyprocrite and say that I enjoy his tirades and his one-sided point of view, but I will not shut up until I defend him a little too. In the short months I knew him, my ears are ringing with the number of times he will come out of his secluded cubicle and exclaim anger / amazement / befuddlement about one topic or another. Everyone else will smile and nod and let him run out of steam. I usually end up being the bearer of the yoke because I cannot pretend not to hear him. Seeing that I’m the only one listening, he’ll beam down on me and continue his yarn. I can’t bring myself to be rude because, 1) he’s old, and 2) sometimes, it’s interesting, what he says. Like today, he c...
